The gameplay mechanics can best be compared to Diablo in that there is a lot of repetitive clicking. Now you get to survive among your fellow exiled in this violent, ruined new world. This story is one of survival in this damned world that once belonged to a dead civilization called the Vaal that ended over 2,000 years before this story takes place. Everyone has their own reasons for being there and what you end up with is a world filled with dynamic interactions and a number of side quests to keep you engaged in the story.
It’s a fallen empire that now serves as a sort of dumping ground for criminals and other unsavory characters from the nearby island of Oriath. Path Of Exile drops you in a rich, dark fantasy world of Wraeclast.
